Hunting

Imagine yourself perched on a hillside behind a tree. Out in front of you, a gorgeous view of the snow-covered Rocky Mountains and sitting in front of you a herd of 50+ elk. Or perhaps there’s a moose walking by not too far from you. Hunting in Steamboat is a great way to experience what we like to call “neature,” because nature really is neat!

Hunting licenses provide substantial funding for conservation efforts and help ensure our wildlife is here for years to come. Enjoy yourself in the wilderness of the Rockies while simultaneously supporting Steamboat Wildlife.

Seasons for hunting do vary, so please contact the Department of Wildlife with any questions you may have. Be sure that if you are hunting on your own, that you fully understand the rules and regulations that come with hunting on public lands in Routt County. If you prefer to have a guide, please contact one of these outfitters to plan your trip.
