A Margarita and a View!
Who doesn’t love some chips and salsa and a good margarita? We do! How about enjoying them with good company and a fantastic view? Sign us up! Salt & Lime and Vaqueros, both located downtown, have great drinks, food, and rooftop seating for you to enjoy the views from the Sleeping Giant to Mt. Werner. Here’s what you need to know:
Salt & Lime
The “Suck a Lime” crew gives classic Mexican cuisine and beverage a modern twist. Try their delicious street tacos (I highly recommend the Fish and the Al Pastor tacos) are packed with flavor and topped with a light and refreshing lime mayo and a pineapple pico. Pair that with their classic margarita or their Jalapeño marg and a seat on the rooftop deck during their daily happy hour and you are set for the evening! Margs are $4 and tacos $3 a piece from 3:30pm-5:30pm, 7 days a week. You can’t say no to that!
Vaqueros is the sister restaurant to the always popular Fiesta Jalisco. They serve up authentic Mexican food, some seriously large margaritas, and another opportunity for gorgeous views of Steamboat Springs! Order a plate of fajitas, tamales, or—my personal favorite— the chili relleño. Their portions are very large so be sure to come hungry. To sip on, order their classic margarita or choose from one of their frozen fruity beverages. Food and drink are best served on their brand new rooftop patio that offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Prices are always reasonable, including their lunch-time margarita prices!
Be sure to stop in before the rooftops close! But don’t forget to bring a jacket… it tends to get a little chillier with the sun going down earlier.
